Wednesday, September 30th, 2015 September progress ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ September was the time of leisure for me as I spent first two weeks on a vacation. We rented a cottage in western part of Czech Republic, in small silent village, away from civilization. There was even almost no GSM coverage, which provided two weeks of work-related silence. During days we were making trips to nearby cities (there are some well known spa cities in the area) and evenings were dedicated to some computing. I took the opportunity to do some of the stuff, I have little time to do during the year. As I replaced broken digitizer in my Newton just before the vacation, it was one of the devices I played with was and I have to say, it's a great device! I tested all my PCMCIA flash cards to determine which are working with it and at the moment it's just one 2MB and one 8MB card, but this seems to be enough. Next thing I did was replacing WindowMaker on my ThinkPad with dwm. After a month since that I have to admit, that I should do this long time ago. I patched dwm with some of the useful patches provided on the website[1] - Unicode window titles, notification area - and did some configuration and yes, I am into dynamic tiling. No more floating windows on my ThinkPad, not on the internal LCD, not in the docking station on external LCD. Last thing worth mentioning is my new github account[2]. I decided to create one and move all the code I ever wrote there, since it seems to be the right place to do so and development on multiple machines will be easier this way. Nothing big is there yet and it probably never will be, but it's a start. [1] http://dwm.suckless.org [2] http://github.com/logout128
