However I was never really satisfied with that 10" Lenovo netbook I bought instead, so I didn't sell the PowerBook and just let it collect dust for couple of years. Last year I decided to resurrect it again. One of my friends fixed broken ethernet connector (I bought the machine in 2008 second-hand with connector already damaged), replaced old 60GB hard drive with newer 160GB one and cleaned cooling system. Two months ago something weird happened with my PowerMac G5 and iPhoto begun to destroy every photo I edited. I decided to buy a new 1TB SSHD and do the complete reinstall of both OS X and Linux. Sadly at the moment I have no time for either, and PowerBook is back in game. During the years with G5 I have a bit forgotten how good Mac OS X 10.4.x is and how smooth it is on a G4. With TenFourFox[1], TenFourBird[2] and great package repository from Sevan Janiyan[3] there's nothing I miss in daily use. To improve this experience even further I ordered 1GB RAM module and I'm considering buying mSATA-IDE adapter and maybe one day I will even buy a new battery and solve my original problem. I should have done that back then, clearly this "good old" PowerBook is more pleasant machine to work with than all my portables since 2010.
